Letter from Jerry Nobela

Here’s an update from Jerry Nobela.

Dear Friends

The world cup is well on track in our country. Lots of excitement and frustrations is also taking place to those who are winning and loosing. We are also continuing with the Lord’s work. We are witnessing the presence of God.

Youth day
Yesterday, the 16th of June 2010, we celebrated our youth day with a difference. Our youth from various branches congregated at Vuwani for a special Christian message. We had sixty four youth who attended our one day sessions. These were teachings and discussion with regards to the importance of education, Christian living and sustaining our individual youth groups in our different churches.

Fathers day
This coming Sunday we will also be celebrating “fathers day” our aim again is to win a number of husbands whose wives are members of our churches. This is a campaign that we started last year. Please pray for this special event.

Pretoria University
My studies with the University of Pretoria are so far exciting! I thought I will be persuaded towards a liberal camp. On the contrary, I have been much exposed to conservative evangelical position in the areas of inerrancy and the infallibility of the Scriptures. It was exciting to do research about the “oral tradition” supposedly created and used by the twelve apostles of the Lord, in opposition to the oral mythological oral tradition that the liberal camp often referred to. I am now preparing to start with my Mini-Thesis that will be about fifty five pages.

Theological training
Our theological training satellite in Gauteng is proceeding well. We have three pastors who have enrolled with us. These are Malope, Dlamini and Khumalo. Please pray for them and us so that they may be trained properly. On the 2nd and the 3rd of July we will be visiting our KZN satellite. After the training and learning sessions, we are intending to visit two of the churches that are being pastured by two of our students. Dennis will visit one and I will be on the other church. This we take place, Lord willingly, of the 5th of July 2010.

Our family
Petunia and I are doing well. Petunia is continuing with her nursing studies. She is now doing her practical training. Kenneth and Garence are also doing well. Little Anele, who is now our “adopted” daughter is growing very fast. She will be starting attending a pre-school next year January 2011. Thanking you for your continual financial and prayer support.

Hi there,

If you drop into midrandchapel.za.org frequently you’d have noticed that we’ve struggled with a number of technical issues over the last month. In truth any minor technical malfunctions were exacerbated by major human ability constraints.

Well, it seems as if we’re back on track, not fully there to be sure, but heading in the right direction.

Trust we’ll see you back soon.

In Christ,

Mark
